About

RochesterGrowth is an informal peer group of founders, presidents and CEOs of growing businesses in the Greater Rochester NY region. We gather quarterly over free drinks and hors d’oeuvres. The format is unstructured except for a brief opportunity for introductions and short presentations by featured entrepreneurs. The primary purpose of these get-togethers is to encourage a sense of belonging to a larger community of entrepreneurs in the region and to allow members to establish stronger network resources to help grow their businesses. The events are off limits to vendors and job seekers . This is a grassroots initiative that has no affiliation with an agency or company.

The People

There is no formal membership process. Invitees are drawn from referrals made by previous attendees. Their businesses vary in size and type. The unifying characteristic is thier commitment to growth and innovation, and location in the Rochester region. Invitations are generally limited to the CEO, president or managing partner. Our invitation list includes 12 5+ business owners and approximately 100 have attended to date. There are no fees, applications or costs associated with RochesterGrowth. Events have been underwritten by large corporate sponsors.

Our Goals

The underlying goal is simple: To encourage entrepreneurship in our region. Rochester ’s economy is on the upswing due to the legions of smaller, growth companies dispersed throughout the region. These entrepreneurial businesses are the reason why our community as successfully absorbed the loss of thousands of jobs. This group demonstrates and encourages that new vitality.

Founders

Rochester Growth was conceived by Richard Glaser, a financial advisor, venture capitalist and co-founder of Digital Rochester, a technology networking group. He spearheaded the original concept and initial meetings and then put together a small group of area entrepreneurs to help move it to the next level. These include:

  • Mikael Totterman, iCardiac
  • James Tabbi, Tabtronics
  • Mary Maida, Medingen
  • Martin Edic, Supernatural Agency Inc.

The group’s role is to provide a strategic ‘quality control’, help organize and promote our activities to invitees and to actively participate.

And, we have plans for the future!!!

Rochester Growth is not associated with any other group.
